BOWLING GREEN, KY--N.E.W. Customer Service Companies, Inc. (NEW), the nation's leading provider of extended service plans and buyer protection programs for consumer products, will soon become the newest customer care employer in Bowling Green, KY. The Virginia-based company announced today that they will be bringing their work-at-home program to the area delivering technical troubleshooting to one of NEW's largest clients, DIRECTV. The company plans to hire 120 employees over the course of the first year and
dependent upon the applicant flow and the ability to fill open positions, the intent would be to continue at this pace adding up to 350 total jobs over a three-year time frame.
After considerable research and evaluation of more than 200 communities, NEW narrowed their selection down to ten training sites. Of those sites, NEW chose Bowling Green as a best fit for the company based on the warm reception, infrastructure and the strong workforce the city offered.
"NEW locating in Bowling Green is an exciting venture for South Central Kentucky because of the 350 jobs they ultimately plan to create here," said Warren County Judge-Executive Michael Buchanon. "Even more interesting is the fact that these are work-at-home jobs that will open up many opportunities for our residents in Warren County and beyond."
Bowling Green Mayor Elaine Walker agreed. "This announcement opens a new door for employment for many South Central Kentucky residents. The opportunity to work from home will be very appealing to many, and we're excited to welcome NEW to Bowling Green."
"The Chamber worked diligently with NEW to locate in South Central Kentucky," said Chamber Board of Directors Chair Doug Gorman. "This is an outstanding service company from one of our targeted industries, and we look forward to watching NEW succeed in our community."
Many organizations were instrumental in bringing NEW to Bowling Green including contributions from the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Bowling Green, County of Warren, Western Kentucky University, Carroll Knicely Conference Center, Kentucky Office of Employment and Training, and Connected Nation, Inc.
"Bowling Green has provided us with a tremendous amount of support to get this program up and running," said NEW's Senior Vice President of Customer Experience, Ray Zukowski. "When we go into a new market, we evaluate the work force talent, technology, infrastructure and economic development. Bowling Green met and exceeded our expectations in these areas. We are thrilled to be a part of the community and offer this unique work environment to its people," continued Zukowski.
Interested job candidates can meet with NEW representatives at a hiring event on June 3 at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. and June 4 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, 710 College Street, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
