BOWLING GREEN, KY-The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce will host a seminar on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, titled "Where the Money Is... In the Bowling Green-Warren County Economy." Nationally recognized economist Bill Fruth will provide an insightful look into the local economy and how local businesses affect and depend upon this economy.
"We're proud to have the opportunity to hear Bill's perspective on our current economy," said Chamber Board of Directors Chairman D. Gaines Penn. "The Chamber contracted with Bill to develop a historical and comparative analysis of Warren County to evaluate the composition, history and trends of the economy, and this seminar will outline the results of this report. I encourage everyone to attend the seminar to learn more about what is driving our economy."
Bill Fruth is president of POLICOM Corporation, an independent economic research firm in Palm City, Fla. His firm specializes in analyzing local and state economies, and its products and services help determine the cause of current economic conditions and offer suggestions and ideas on how to improve or maintain the economic "quality of life" for communities. Fruth has evaluated more than 700 local U.S. economies, created more than 200 economic and community studies, and provided presentations and workshops for state-national associations and community forums in 37 states. He has been recognized by the Florida Administrative Court as an expert witness regarding local economies.
"By contracting with Bill and POLICOM, the Chamber has secured a state-of-the-art analysis of our current economy, which will help us to identify strengths and opportunities for growth," said Chamber President and CEO Ron Bunch, CEcD. "We're continuing to find more ways to provide value-added benefits to our Chamber partners, and this seminar, along with the results of Bill's analysis, is one such take away for partners."
The 90-minute seminar will begin at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20. Registration is required online at www.bgchamber.com and costs $15 for Chamber partners and $25 for non-Chamber partners. Refreshments will be provided.
