BOWLING GREEN, KY-The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce will launch a series of business seminars starting Tuesday, February 21, 2012. This series, titled Business at Its Best: Seminars for Business Success, will be led by business and educational leaders who will provide information and best practices for improving one's business.

The first seminar--Website Credibility: How to Evaluate Your Site--will be taught by Chris Nation, creative director and account director at Hitcents.com. Nation will give insight on valuable evaluation tools for business websites. Research shows that approximately 80% of potential customers search the internet prior to contacting companies or purchasing goods or services.

The two-hour seminar begins at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21. Breakfast will be provided. Seminar cost is $15 for Chamber partners and $25 for non-partners. Registration is available online at www.bgchamber.com.

"2011 Chairman Rodney Rogers and Chamber staff met with hundreds of small business owners last year and gathered valuable information about our partners' needs and wants," said 2012 Chamber Board of Directors Chairman D. Gaines Penn. "These discussions led us to create the Business at its Best Seminar Series, which are low-cost opportunities for business education and development."

The seminar series will be held on a monthly basis and will address numerous topics for business owners. Participants will leave each seminar with valuable, practical information that can be immediately applied to their businesses. March's seminar--Change Management--will be led by Western Kentucky University's Gordon Ford College of Business. Future topics will include
  • Human resources
  • Low-cost training opportunities for small businesses
  • Mobile business techniques
  • Small business financing
  • Starting a small business
"We're extremely appreciative of the businesses and organizations, including Hitcents.com, Bowling Green Technical College and WKU, that have agreed to partner with us for these seminars," said Chamber President & CEO Ron Bunch, CEcD. "Their contributions will help us meet our goal of fostering business growth for our Chamber partners."
