South Central Kentucky Named Location for Key Shooting Industry Events

BOWLING GREEN, KY—The Ninth Annual Shooting Industry Masters and the 20th Annual Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence awards ceremony will be held in South Central Kentucky on July 22-23, 2011. Masters events will be held at the Rockcastle Shooting Center, Park Mammoth Resort in Park City while the awards ceremony will take place at Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green.

In addition, a reception greeting all participants will be held on July 21 at the National Corvette Museum. The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce is a sponsor of this reception.

Randy Molde, Masters chairman and Academy director, said, “The announcement that Kentucky will greet the industry at the Corvette Museum reflects the overwhelming hospitality the state has shown the industry. At every opportunity, Kentucky has impressed us with its support of the shooting sports and understanding of good business. We look forward to working with them to produce an unforgettable event for shooting industry professionals.”

Chamber Director, Regional Development Miller Slaughter works closely with Nick Noble, CEO of Rockcastle Shooting Center. Slaughter says that bringing these events to the region will highlight the wide variety of outdoor amenities to a new audience: the shooting industry.

“We anticipate more than 400 visitors will come to South Central Kentucky to participate in the Masters and Academy events,” said Rodney Rogers, Chamber chairman. “This event will attract a diverse group of visitors, giving us an opportunity to showcase our region to the world.”

FMG Publications owns and operates the Masters and Academy. The company invited these events to come to South Central Kentucky after visiting Rockcastle Shooting Center in 2010.
