BOWLING GREEN, KY-The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce has welcomed a new staff member to its team, naming Courey McCubbin as the new partnership development director. In her new role, McCubbin will be responsible for the President's Club, partnership retention and Chamber marketing.
"We're thrilled to have Courey on our staff," said Chamber Vice President, Operations Tonya Matthews. "She has a great deal of marketing and sales experience, and with her energy and knowledge, she's sure to be a success as partnership development director."
McCubbin obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Western Kentucky University in 2006. She finished her coursework for a Master's degree in business administration through WKU's Trilateral MBA program in August 2009 and will graduate with her MBA in December.
While enrolled in the Trilateral MBA program, she spent the Fall 2008 semester studying in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada at the Université de Moncton, and then she spent the Summer 2009 semester in Querétaro, Mexico at the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. She worked as a graduate assistant in the MBA department and was responsible for marketing and promoting the newly created Trilateral MBA program.
McCubbin also worked as a sales executive for Hitcents.com, where she was responsible for marketing and sales for high-end technology products and services. Her position required top quality customer service skills and technical knowledge, and it provided her with excellent experience to work with Chamber partners. She was also a member of the Chamber's Recruitment Committee while with Hitcents.com.
"Courey is a great addition to the Chamber team," said Todd Davis, 2009 chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors. "She will be a great asset because of her experiences in and out of school, and we're eager to watch her apply those skills to her new role."
