BOWLING GREEN-The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of Alley-Cassetty Brick’s new location today at 2777 Griffin Drive in Bowling Green.
“I'm pleased to congratulate Alley-Cassetty Brick on the grand opening of their new distribution center in Bowling Green,” said Gov. Steve Beshear. “The company's successful growth in the community will not only add immediate capacity, but will position Alley-Cassetty Brick for future job growth and investment.”
“This is another great day in Bowling Green-Warren County!” Chamber Board Chairman Todd Davis said. “We're proud to be home to Alley-Cassetty and look forward to a long relationship with the company and its employees."
According to Inc. Magazine, Alley-Cassetty Companies, Inc. has cultivated its diversified business units into one of the fastest growing companies in the south. Today, the company ranks as one of Nashville’s largest private 100 companies, having experienced tremendous growth since its beginning in the 1880s.
In an effort to corner the Nashville market for residential coal supply, the longstanding family businesses of Cassetty Coal Company and Frank Alley Coal Company merged in 1964. Since that merger, the coal division has transitioned into commercial and industrial supply, allowing Alley-Cassetty to enter the brick and related material delivery business in 1971 by purchasing Capitol Builders Supply. The building supply division now encompasses 10 offices in Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia
with a premier portfolio of manufacturers of both residential and commercial products.
In 1980, Alley-Cassetty established its third business unit, Alley-Cassetty Trucking Division, which has flourished into a full-service hauler, specializing in hazardous and non-hazardous customized transportation. Also in 1980, the company opened Custom Truck Sales and Service (now Alley-Cassetty Truck Center), a full-service dealership offering commercial sales and service.
Alley-Cassetty Brick opened its Bowling Green location in November 1995.
Mayor Elaine Walker said, ”We’re thankful for Alley-Cassetty’s commitment to the area and excited to see what the future will bring for them.”
“Having a company of this caliber as a corporate citizen is truly an honor,” Warren County Judge Executive Mike Buchanon said. “This is an exciting project for Warren County, the City of Bowling Green and the entire region and we celebrate Alley-Cassetty’s continued investment in South Central Kentucky.”
Incorporated in 1935, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce is the driving force for economic development in South Central Kentucky. As one of only 336 chambers nationwide to be accredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the fourth largest chamber in Kentucky, the Chamber serves as a premier business advocate for its more than 1,300 partners. Its primary goals are to promote growth and success in the business community, reaching its small business partners and those
in large industries alike. With leadership programs, governmental relations projects, educational initiatives and involvement opportunities, the Chamber aims to support the community and its neighbors in order to enhance the business climate and continue to grow the region.
