BOWLING GREEN, KY-The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, along with many of its partners, spent Wednesday, August 27, welcoming Western Kentucky University students back to campus.
The Chamber hosts the annual Welcome Back Western Festival to connect its partners with the students of WKU. To showcase their services and products, 57 Chamber partners set up booths, greeted students, and presented giveaways to thousands on WKU's South Lawn, taking an opportunity to reach the student population.
"Every August, our community welcomes thousands of WKU students back to town," said Chamber Board Chairman Doug Gorman. "We at the Chamber recognize that our partners benefit from being in front of these students during the first week of classes. Those partners participating in Welcome Back Western enjoy having a chance to meet so many students in such a venue as we provided on Wednesday."
Partners received increased exposure with live radio broadcasts and media coverage by WBKO and the Daily News.
