BOWLING GREEN, KY-The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce has welcomed new staff members to its team, filling previously open positions.


"We've made excellent hires for the Chamber," said Rodney Rogers, Chamber Board of Directors chairman. "These new staff members all come to the Chamber with high recommendations and excellent experience, bringing strong skills to our team."


Dave Alexander previously served as chief financial officer for Martin Management Group in Bowling Green and has more than 20 years of experience in management for large and midsize automotive dealerships. He is a certified public accountant and was named 2011 Volunteer of the Year by Junior Achievement of South Central KY.


Maureen Carpenter joins the Chamber after nearly 10 years with Commerce Chenango in Chenango, N.Y. She was named the president and chief executive officer of the organization in 2007. She is an Institute for Organization Management graduate.


Joining the team as partnership development director, Joe Younger brings six years of management experience and leadership to the team, having worked as general manager of T.G.I.Fridays from 2005 to 2011. He is also a past head coach for SKY FUTBOL CLUB.


Brittany Southwood will serve as the new partnership sales representative, recruiting new Chamber partners. She was previously employed as a sales assistant at Forever Communications and at WKYM/WFLW Radio Stations.


As the new receptionist/administrative assistant, Betty Martin has many years of administrative experience. She has previously worked as administrative clerk for Scott & Ritter, Inc. in Bowling Green and a human resources coordinator at Bowling Green Metalforming.


"I'm confident that our new hires will contribute greatly to our Chamber team," said Chamber President & CEO Ron Bunch, CEcD. "They have a wide variety of experiences that will add to our organization's diverse strengths and assets."
