BOWLING GREEN, KY-In support of its legislative action efforts, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce held a Legislative Wrap-Up today.  Kentucky State Representatives Jim DeCesare, Jody Richards and Wilson Stone, as well as Senator Mike Wilson, were the speakers for the breakfast, which was sponsored by Jim Johnson Nissan & Jim Johnson Hyundai.

This Wrap-Up, coordinated by the Chamber's Legislative Action Committee, provides Chamber partners with a face-to-face meeting with state legislators and an opportunity for partners to ask questions. Insight Communications recorded the event and will replay it according to the schedule provided below.

"We're grateful to our legislators for participating in today's event. Their insights about the 2011 legislative session are very valuable, and we're glad that they were willing to share these insights with our Chamber partners today. We look forward to sharing more legislative information with our partners as the year continues," said Rodney Rogers, Chamber Board of Directors chairman.

Rogers welcomed nearly 50 Chamber partners to this morning's breakfast and introduced the legislators as they made their presentations. Senator Wilson and Representatives DeCesare, Richards and Stone spoke about the 2011 legislative session and answered questions from the crowd.

Each legislator presented an overview of the bills addressed in the session, including the budget, government transparency, and Medicaid. They also discussed topics including education, revisions to the penal code, and improvements to Interstate 65, particularly near Horse Cave, KY. The legislators praised the passage of SB130, legislation with which Western Kentucky University will pursue implementing a Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

The Legislative Wrap-Up will be replayed on Insight Channel 5 on Tuesday, March 29, through Monday, April 11, at 5 and 9 p.m.
