Chamber Presents 2010 Year-End Awards

BOWLING GREEN, KY-The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce held a special news conference today to honor the 2010 Year-End Awards winners. 2010 Chamber Board of Directors Chairman Joe Natcher announced four award winners during the news conference:
2010 Ambassador of the Year - Charles M. Moore, Jr.
2010 Board Volunteer of the Year - Todd Davis
2010 Volunteer of the Year - Michelle Gorman
2010 Volunteer of the Year - Audrey Meany
"Our volunteers make our Chamber a success," said Natcher. "We're so proud to honor Charlie, Todd, Michelle and Audrey for their dedication and leadership throughout their involvement in this organization, and we'll continue to honor them on February 3rd at Annual Dinner."
Charles M. Moore, Jr. serves as chairman of Charles M. Moore Insurance. He has been a Chamber Ambassador for many years and was selected by his peers for his leadership and commitment to the Ambassadors Club. He is also a past Chamber Board of Directors chairman.
Chamber Partnership Development Director Courey McCubbin, who oversees the Ambassadors Club, said, "Charlie is always willing to help the Chamber and is one of our most active volunteers. He attends nearly every event and is extremely welcoming to all partners."
Todd Davis was the 2009 Chamber Board of Directors chairman and the 2010 Bowling Green Area Economic Development Authority chairman. Davis received the 2010 Board Volunteer of the Year because he was integral in the growth of the Chamber's legislative action efforts and the promotion of the Chamber as the American Chamber of Commerce Executives' 2009 Chamber of the Year.
Chamber Vice President, Operations Tonya Matthews, IOM, ACE spoke highly of Davis, saying, "Todd dedicated many hours to this organization, and he has continued to support us after his terms in office. We're grateful to have such a committed volunteer as Todd is within the Chamber."
Two individuals are honored as the 2010 Volunteers of the Year: Michelle Gorman and Audrey Meany. Gorman, who is a U.S. Bank Branch manager, was the chair of the 2010 Leadership Bowling Green program and is a past member of the Chamber Board of Directors. Chamber Program Director Lindsey McClain said, "Because of Michelle, our Leadership Bowling Green program had an extremely successful year in 2010. She was innovative in her ideas and leadership, and she always remained enthusiastic
for the program."
Audrey Meany, independent sales director for Mary Kay®, served as the chair of the 2010 Industry Appreciation Committee. She is also a Chamber Ambassador. Vice President, Economic Development Dan Preston said, "It was a pleasure working with Audrey to organize our industry appreciation activities last year. She understands the impact that our industries have on our local economy, and she made it her goal to honor those contributions."
Ron Bunch, CEcD, Chamber president and CEO, is impressed by the leadership that all volunteers have demonstrated to this organization. "I'm grateful for our volunteers who choose to be involved in our Chamber at a variety of levels. We're a successful organization because of their leadership and commitment to the Chamber's mission and goals."
Moore, Davis, Gorman and Meany will be recognized at the Chamber's Annual Dinner on Thursday, February 3rd, at Sloan Convention Center. The event begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased for $50 each. Tables (seating 10 individuals) may be purchased for $500. President's Club Partners (Gold, Platinum and Diamond Levels) may purchase tables at a discounted price of $450.
"Annual Dinner will be an opportunity for us to honor all of our award winners and the many successes of 2010, like our record-breaking 21 economic development announcements," said Rodney Rogers, 2011 Chamber chairman. "We'll also look ahead to 2011 and what our vision is for the future of the Chamber."
